Week 22 13 Feature #15 LFA 2013: Triumph Pavilion - Peace Pavilion

The Triumph Pavilion - Peace Pavilion
London Festival of Architecture 2013
Dates: 1st - 30th June 2013
Location: various locations around London. (see http://www.londonarchitecturediary.com/)

The London Festival of Architecture runs throughout the month of June and includes a programme of events including lectures, installations, exhibitions, pavilions, tours and student shows.

The Triumph Pavilion - Peace Pavilion, Museum Gardens, Cambridge Heath Road, London E2 was designed by Atelier Zundel Cristea (AZC) as part of the LFA 2013 and is open 16th May to 16th June 2013. The design was the result of an international competition organised by ArchTriumph.

The pavilion is a self supporting inflated structure 4m high and constructed from a PVC membrane formed using CNC technology. The unit is then fixed back to the ground via a series of straps fixed to pins inserted into the ground. The free flowing structure allows movement around the pavilion and chairs provide points of rest and reflection within the park.
