Week 49 13 Feature #42 RIBA Exhibition: President's Medals Student Awards 2013


The Presidents Medals are annual awards given to students studying architecture at Degree (Part I) and Diploma (Part II) levels. There are three main awards consisting of the Bronze Medal for Part I students, the Silver Medal for Part II students and the dissertation medal. The Gold Medal is an award given to a practising architect which this year was the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor. The exhibition is a selection of student's work submitted from 300 schools from 60 countries. This years winners which were all from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London include; Bronze Medal; Helsinki Archipelago Town Hall by Ness Lafoy ; Silver Medal; Kizhi Island by Ben Hayes and the dissertation award was awarded to Tamsin Hanke for 'Magnitogorsk: Utopian Vision Of Spatial Socialism'.
